Alfred Webster Hyams, affectionately known to many as "Lucky," passed away tragically at the age of 27 on January 8, 2026, at his residence in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born on September 21, 1998, in New Orleans, Alfred lived a life marked by his unwavering strength and a profound dedication to his family.
As a doting father, Lucky’s proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly his beloved children: son Quinton Franklin and daughter Ava Rose Holmes. They were the light of his life and the driving force behind his dedication to being a protector and provider. His commitment to his family extended beyond mere words; he was a dependable source of strength for his siblings Aldrionne, Alteyonna, Al’Kairah, Al’Vontae, Al’Khandre, and his cherished nieces Brionne, Lon’Dionna, and Tor’Rionna. They will forever remember him not only as a brother and uncle but as a guiding light in their lives.
Alfred’s heart was as big as his smile. He embraced his role as a caregiver selflessly, stepping up without hesitation after the passing of his mother, Chakakhan Hyams. His faith in God provided him with the strength to navigate life's challenges, and he never let hard times get him down. He was a giver at heart—always willing to lend a hand, share a meal, or bring joy to others, particularly through heartfelt visits to nursing homes with his sister. Together, they spread joy and delighted the elderly, embodying the spirit of love and community.
His journey through life also included a fulfilling career as a security guard at a chemical plant, where his dependable nature and strong work ethic shone brightly. Alfred attended McKinley Sr. High School, where he likely made lasting friendships and fond memories, though his true legacy lies in the loving relationships he fostered with those around him.
An enthusiastic gamer at heart, Alfred loved to cook and enjoyed sharing meals with his family, finding joy and connection through every bite. His fur baby, Blu Hyams, will also mourn the absence of the love and companionship he provided.
Alfred is predeceased by his father, Alfred Muse Jr., and his mother, Chakakhan Hyams, along with his grandparents and nephew Tor’Rajh Hyams. Their memories will surely be cherished as he reunites with them.
As we gather in remembrance, there will be a viewing on January 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Faith Chapel Church of God in Baton Rouge. Together, we will honor Alfred's spirited life, his acts of kindness, and the profound love he had for his family.
Though his time with us was far too short, the impact of his life and the warmth of his spirit will forever linger in the hearts of all who knew him. Alfred Webster Hyams was a beacon of joy and strength—a lively soul whose memory will continue to inspire and uplift those he left behind.
