Alice Marie Smith was born on May 27, 1953 in Sicily Island, La. to Alice Smith and Levi Finister. She married twice. First to the late George Taylor from which four children were born: Gwendolyn, Angel, George, Jr., and Randolph. She was a 1971 graduate of Woodlawn High School and a 1987 graduate of Delta College. She later married Forest Patin on March 16, 1991. This union lasted until her departure on September 4, 2020. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and served the Lord in various capacities in different churches to her final one as deaconess at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She always made it known that she was a Child of God and this influenced her life. She love her work and her friends and was employed at Cafe’ Americain and later at Woman’s Hospital and finally at Harmony Transitional Services. She leave in passing her husband, Forest Patin, her surviving children: Gwendolyn T Pugh (Charles), Angel T Hills, and Randolph Taylor (Chiquita). Three sisters: Victoria McKnight of Baton Rouge, La;, Mary Ann Lee, and Betty Jean Alexander of Los Angeles, CA; three brothers, Jesse Smith (Deloris), Jimmie Smith both of Baton Rouge, La, and David Smith (Caroline) of Pine Bluff, AR; seven grandchildren, including Natasha Taylor of Round Rock, TX;, Darryl Hills, Jr. of El Paso, TX;, Javonta Spears, Marcus Hills and Ashanti Taylor all of Baton Rouge, La.; five great-grandchildren including Jerriemiyah Taylor, Briana Parker, Mariah Hills, Mia Hills, and Malia Hills; two sisters-in-law; Olevia Griffin and Jessie P Williams; stepchildren; Jermound, Broderick, and Kindra Patin; several nieces including, Freda Bowman, Juanita Bates, Victoria Brown, Jasmine Smith, Courtney Smith, Whitney Smith, and Marla Lee, Lakisha Smith; several nephews including Richard McKnight, Lamar Lee and Michael Smith; three godsons, Darnell Lee, De’Ondre Williams and Deshaun Johnson; and many other family and friends too numerous to mention. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Frances F Smith and Rudolph Smith, parents Alice Smith and Levi Finister, son, George Taylor, Jr., brothers, Roosevelt Lee, Samuel Finister and John H.
