Deborah Ann Lathers, beloved daughter, sister, companion, mother, grandmother, and friend, left this life on July 19, 2026, at the age of 63, passing away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 13, 1963, in Clinton, Louisiana, Deborah’s journey through life was marked by a vibrant spirit, ceaseless generosity, and the deepest devotion to those she cherished.

From her earliest days, Deborah’s love for conversation filled every room she entered with warmth and laughter. She was renowned for her outgoing nature—a brilliant, loving soul whose kindness knew no bounds. Friends and family alike recall how she would readily give the shirt off her back: her generosity a living testament to her faith and her heartfelt love for Christ.

Deborah’s life was rich with the joys of simple pleasures. She found happiness in gathering with loved ones to play cards, especially Tonk, a favorite game that echoed with her laughter and good-natured competition. Her delight in sharing good food was surpassed only by the comfort of loved ones at her table, where she created memories in every shared meal. Yet above all hobbies and pastimes, Deborah most treasured any moment spent in the company of her family. These connections—so natural and genuine—offered her the richest happiness.

She took greatest pride in her sons, DeMarcus Lathers Sr. and Dayton Lathers, who stand as enduring pillars of her legacy. Her joy carried on to her grandson, DeMarcus Lathers Jr., in whom she saw the future unfold with hope and love. Her strength as a mother was reflected not only in the lives she nurtured, but in the deep bonds of family she so ardently preserved.

Deborah Ann Lathers lived a life defined by her outpouring of love, her selfless kindness, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.

Deborah’s life was shaped by profound relationships. She is survived by her devoted companion, Larry Ware, her loving sons DeMarcus Lathers Sr. and Dayton Lathers, and her cherished grandson, DeMarcus Lathers Jr. She is also deeply missed by her sisters, Pearaley (Hardy) Anderson and Martha ( Thomas) Robinson, and by those who were close to her heart: Godchildren,  Jieris Sims, Stephanie Falgoust, and Alexis Borskey and numerous other relatives and friends.

She now joins loved ones who preceded her in passing: her father, James Lathers; her mother, Mary Borskey Lathers; her son, JeMar Lathers; and her brothers, Harold Borskey and Hollis Wayne Borskey. The memory of each dearly departed family member was a guiding light in her life, shaping her journey and her unwavering sense of compassion.

Deborah Ann Lathers lived a life defined by her outpouring of love, her selfless kindness, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Those blessed enough to have been part of her circle will remember her not for grand gestures, but for the everyday moments—her laughter, her warmth, the calm comfort of her words, and the steadfastness of her embrace.
