Diana Washington, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, departed this life peacefully on December 30, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by love at the Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Wing. Born on August 19, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, Diana was raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where she emerged as a graduate of Omaha Technical High School. Her life was characterized by her deep intelligence, kind-hearted nature, and unwavering faith as a devoted Christian.

Diana dedicated her professional life to serving as a fraud investigator with the Louisiana Department of Labor. Her commitment to her work was a reflection of her character—meticulous, thorough, and always striving to ensure justice and integrity in the systems she monitored. Her colleagues knew her as a hardworking and compassionate individual who lent her knowledge and understanding to others.

Beyond her career, Diana had a vibrant spirit that illuminated the lives of those around her. She cherished beautiful clothes and had an innate elegance in her demeanor, embodying a joy for life that was contagious. She loved to travel, enjoying shopping trips, taking cruises, and going on vacations, creating treasured memories along the way. Diana’s warm and caring personality made her a friend to many, and her laughter was a welcome presence wherever she went.

Diana took immense pride in her family, with her son, Rapp Washington, and his wife, Leticia, filling her heart with joy. She adored her grandson, Ryan Hubbard, and granddaughter, Aaliyah Washington, cherishing every moment spent with them. The laughter of her great-grandchildren, Rylie and Reign Hubbard, brought light into her life, marking her proudest accomplishments as the legacy she built through love and nurturing.

She leaves behind her loving sisters, Doris Whitfield and Janina Bias Hayes, her brothers, Carnell Washington and Steven Whitfield, along with many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
