Born on September 13, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, Gerald grew into a remarkable individual whose warm personality and kind spirit touched the lives of many.

Gerald was known for his unwavering dedication to his work as a funeral attendant and his willingness to take on any task he could find to earn a living. His friends often joked that he was a "jack of all trades, master of most (maybe some)," admiring his versatility and resourcefulness. His life reflected an ethos of hard work, humor, and a resilience that inspired those around him. An outspoken and outgoing individual, Gerald had a unique knack for making everyone feel welcome; he truly never met a stranger.

Education was an important part of Gerald's journey, as he attended school in Chicago, utilizing this foundation to build a fulfilling career and life. He was a proud Mason, and this accomplishment brought him great joy, adding yet another layer to the legacy he leaves behind.

Gerald was a cherished member of the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where his faith and commitment to his community flourished. He was captivated by music, often finding joy in listening to melodies that resonated with him. His love for attending live events, especially "live after five," not only enriched his life but also provided him with countless memorable moments shared with friends and family, mingling in laughter and joy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Paul Robinson, as well as his children, other relatives, and a multitude of friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. The impact he had on their lives is a testament to the depth of his love and the kindness he exuded every day.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gerald's life, with a viewing scheduled for Friday January 23, 2026, at the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church in Baton Rouge from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service on January 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Gerald will be laid to rest in Resting Place Memorial Garden.
