Throughout her life, Keaira faced struggles and hardships with remarkable strength and resilience, embodying a spirit that refused to be diminished. She found joy in the simple and beautiful pleasures of life—listening to music, dancing, dressing up and enjoying nights out with friends, and expressing her love through cooking. These passions reflected the fullness of her character and the warmth she brought into every room.
Above all, Keaira took immense pride and joy in her children, who stood as her greatest accomplishments—Azariah, De’Nyia, De’Myria, and H’Layla. Her dedication to her family was unwavering and formed the cornerstone of her life’s happiness.
Keaira’s journey was surrounded by the love and support of her family. She was cherished by her mother, Shawanda Green, and father, Johnathan Hatton Sr. She also shared a close bond with her brothers Charles Turead, Keon Green, Johnathan Hatton Jr., and Donathan Hatton, and her sister Tyshika Hatton. Her maternal grandmother, Lucille J. Brown, remained a guiding presence in her life. In addition, she was deeply connected with her extended family including aunts Sabrina Francois, Sharonda McKnight, Ivory Bell, and Tamu Hatton, as well as cousins Sa’Bria Francois, Eduardo Francois Sr., Edward Francois Jr., Raquel Mitchell, Shareyell Hatton, Khareyell Julius Hatton, and Willie Bell Hatton. The love she shared with her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends also formed an indelible part of her legacy.
Keaira was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Frazell Green; paternal grandmother, Nancy Hatton; beloved brother, Montrell Green; and uncle, Timothy Hatton. Their memories endearingly remain with her family and friends as they remember the collective strength and love that shaped her life.
A memorial service to honor Keaira’s life will be held on April 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Resting Place Funeral Home, located at 7840 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70806. It is an opportunity for all who knew her vibrant spirit to gather and celebrate her memory.
