Kim Y Dunn, born on July 31, 1970, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, left this world on August 13, 2025, at Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet. Kim was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and a cherished friend, known for her kind spirit, generosity, and strong faith in God.
Throughout her career as a manager at a local fast food restaurant, Kim touched the lives of many with her warm demeanor and unfailing kindness. She was a giver, always ready to lend a helping hand or create something special for others, such as her beloved gift baskets. Her creativity shone brightly in all aspects of her life, from her decorating skills to her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued.
Kim was particularly proud of her sons, Sean (Diamond) Burkes and Shane Burkes, and her three grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She cherished the time spent with them and took great joy in fostering their growth and happiness. Her relationships with her family extended beyond her immediate household, as she maintained ties with her sisters, Sharon and Tammy, and her brother, alongside other relatives and friends.
Her faith was an integral part of her existence, expressed through her devotion to her church community and her service to those around her. Kim's passion for going to church reflected her deep spiritual commitment, and she found joy in her involvement with her congregation. Whether she was shopping at thrift stores or decorating for special occasions, her enthusiasm and creativity were evident in all she did.
Kim's life will be celebrated with a memorial service conducted by Rev. Linda Drewery on September 6, 2025. The service will take place at Little Zion Baptist Church located at 5705 Stearns St, Baton Rouge, LA 70811, starting at 2:00 PM.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Isaiah “Zeke” Dunn, and her parents. Kim will be remembered fondly for her caring nature, her love for family, and her unwavering support for her friends and community. Her legacy of kindness and love will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
