LaDarius Markale Landry, a beloved son, brother, and friend, embraced the world with profound warmth and ambition during his time on this earth. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on March 17, 2005, LaDarius radiated a spirit that was both intelligent and caring, often described as a ray of sunshine by those fortunate enough to know him. He dreamt big, harboring aspirations of traveling abroad and exploring the myriad cultures this vast world has to offer.
A proud graduate of Enterprise High School in Alabama, LaDarius was currently a junior at the University of South Alabama, where he was making waves as an influential member of his community. He was instrumental in the establishment of The Iota Kappa Chapter, which officially chartered on February 21, 2025 at the University of South Alabama, marking a significant milestone in his life and the lives of his fraternity brothers, who lovingly called him “Jaackpot.” His connection to these brothers and the camaraderie shared within those walls molded him into a dedicated individual who wanted to make a difference in the world around him.
LaDarius possessed a passion for culinary arts and delighted in both cooking and eating, often bringing friends and family together through the love of food. He cherished his family deeply, often drawing strength and inspiration from them. His life, though cut short at just 20 years old while he was on campus, serves as a testament to the joy he spread among those around him, making each moment feel vibrant and meaningful.
He leaves behind his doting mother, Mary Landry Kimble (Fred); his father, Lawrence Williams Sr.; his loving brothers, La'Varius Williams and Darius Landry; and his cherished sister, Lacecia Landry. LaDarius took great joy in his role as an uncle to his nephew, Andy Drye, and held a special place in his heart for his aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of relatives and friends, including his beloved frat brothers.
LaDarius is preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Williams Jr., his grandparents, Oscar and Joann Landry, and his uncle, Michael Landry. Though he has departed from this earthly realm, the impact of his brief yet vibrant life will echo in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. He made this world a better place, and his legacy will continue to shine brightly.
