Leslie John Johnson, 68, passed away on August 16, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. Born on December 23, 1957, in Natchez, Mississippi, Leslie was known for his strength, sharp mind, and his reputation as a man who didn’t take no mess.

A skilled mechanic and disciplined boxer, Leslie honed his abilities with determination and pride. He carried that same grit into every part of his life. He also enjoyed playing chess, a game that matched his strategic thinking and competitive nature.

Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Elizabeth Johnson, daughter Terri Kaufman, grandson Keiron Dennis Jr., 2 sisters and 6 brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters Latonya Holliday Green and her husband Tyrone and Shawanda Chews and her fiancé Wendell Wright. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 2 great‑grandchildren, his brother George Johnson, sisters Ruby Hughes (Robert) and Rev. Mary White Johnson, along with many other relatives and friends who will remember him with deep love and respect.

Leslie will be remembered for his grit, intelligence, steady hands, and the bold way he carried himself. His presence was unmistakable, and his absence will be felt by all who knew him.
