Margaret Crumb, a devoted mother, sister, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on March 23, 2026, at Heritage Manor II. Born on August 10, 1949, in Newellton, Louisiana, Margaret’s life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and resilience.

A proud graduate of Sevier High School in Ferriday, Louisiana, Margaret committed much of her life to caring for others through her career in home health care. Her compassion and kindness were evident to all who knew her, as she tirelessly supported those in need with a gentle spirit and unwavering strength.

Margaret’s passions extended beyond her professional life. She had a deep love for sewing, a craft she not only enjoyed herself but lovingly passed on to her only daughter, Byia Cummings. Her sewing projects were expressions of her creativity and care, each stitch reflecting the warmth she shared with those around her. When not crafting, Margaret found joy in watching television and immersing herself in the soulful rhythms of the Blues, especially the music of Z.Z. Hill, which brought comfort and joy to her days.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Byia Cummings, whose bond with Margaret was a testament to the love and guidance that defined their relationship. Margaret was also a cherished sister to Barbara (Johnny) Foster, Pauline Johnson, Mary Cummings, Lynette (James) Williams, Leroy Walker Jr., Jacqueline Davis, Felicia Davis, Algreco Walker, and Leroy Davis. In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind numerous other relatives and friends who treasured her presence, light, and unwavering support.

Margaret’s passing leaves a profound space in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was rich with simple joys and acts of kindness that created lasting memories and a legacy of love. Those who were fortunate enough to share in her journey will remember her gentle smile, her steadfast heart, and the quiet strength that carried her through the years.

Though Margaret Crumb has left this world, the love she gave and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her spirit endures as a tender reminder of the power of compassion and the enduring bonds of family.
