Mei’Lanais Ngoc Vessell

Mei'Lanais Vessell, affectionately known as "Mei Mei," entered the hearts of her family with immeasurable love and forever changed their lives. On June 26, 2026, at just 7 months old, Mei'Lanais passed away unexpectedly due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Though her time on earth was far too short, Mei'Lanais filled every day with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. She was the beautiful daughter of Jermaine Vessell II and Anna Tran, who cherished every second they were blessed to have with her. She was the center of their world, their greatest joy, and the light that brightened every room.

Even as a baby, Mei Mei had a personality all her own. She was happy, expressive, and loved "talking" with Mommy and Daddy, filling their days with sweet babbles, giggles, and precious smiles. She knew the people she loved and wasn't shy about letting strangers know they had to earn her smile. If she wasn't familiar with you, you weren't getting one of her smiles—but once you became part of her little world, she filled it with warmth and love.

Mei Mei leaves behind her devoted parents, Jermaine Vessell II and Anna Tran; her maternal grandmother, Hanh Nguyen; her paternal grandparents, Jermaine Vessell and Christel Vessell; her loving uncles, Jayden Vessell and Jaxson Vessell; along with many other relatives and friends who were blessed to know and love her.

Although Mei Mei's life lasted only seven months, the love she gave and the happiness she brought will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her tiny hands left lasting imprints, and her precious life reminds us that love is not measured by the length of time we have together, but by the depth of the love we share. She will always be remembered for her beautiful face, her bright spirit, her sweet little voice, and the overwhelming joy she brought to her family.

While words cannot ease the pain of her absence, her memory will live on in every cherished moment, every treasured photograph, and every heartbeat of those who loved her. She will forever be Mommy and Daddy's little girl—deeply loved, endlessly missed, and never forgotten.

A viewing and a service celebrating the precious life of Mei’Lanais will be Friday July 10, 2026 at 11:00am at Oak Lodge Event Center located at 2905 Westfork Dr Baton Rouge, La 70816.
