Michael Anthony Adams, a devoted Navy veteran and respected driver for various transit companies, passed away peacefully at his home on May 3, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on September 30, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Michael lived a life marked by dedication, faith, and service both to his country and his community.
Michael was a proud 1965 graduate of George Washington Carver High School. Following his education, he honorably served in the Navy, earning the National Defense Service Medal, a testament to his commitment to his nation’s defense. After fulfilling his military duties, he embarked on a career as a driver for transit companies, where his reliability and professionalism left a lasting impression on colleagues and passengers alike.
A man of deep Christian faith, Michael’s character was defined by kindness, integrity, and compassion. His life was a reflection of his steadfast beliefs and his devotion to family, friends, and neighbors.
Michael is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Adams and Latara Queen, along with her husband Larry; his sister, Cynthia Triggs; his brother, Gregory Adams; grandsons Andre, Kaleb, and Jayden; niece Christie Taylor; neighbors Lamont and Shiela Ellis; as well as other relatives and friends who cherished his presence. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Valerie S. Adams, whose memory he held dear.
Family, friends, and community members are invited to honor Michael’s life with a viewing on May 12, 2026, from 8:30 a.m to 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore Catholic Church, located at 5657 Thomas Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70811. The viewing will be followed closely by a rosary beginning at 8:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will commence at 09:30 a.m. at the same location. Following the service, interment will take place at Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W Mt Pleasant Zachary Rd, Zachary, LA 70791, at 11:00 a.m.
Michael Anthony Adams’s legacy is one of service, faith, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
